About Kynective

The people and experience behind the practice

Our foundation

A new chapter built on established work

Kynective’s production history began in 2011 with Krystal Nation, founded by broadcaster Andrew Krystal. Greg Neely joined as creative director in 2019, became CEO in 2022 and continued the practice as Krystal Media before taking full ownership and creating Kynective Media in 2025. Kynective is the next chapter, launched by Greg in partnership with Ciaran Neely, bringing research, behavioural science and narrative media together in a practice focused on human connection and trust.

Leadership

Research, narrative and production under one practice

Greg Neely

President and CEO

Greg is a designer, storyteller and entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience helping people understand information, navigate places and connect with organizations. In 2005, he co-founded Toronto-based Forge Media + Design and helped build it into a multidisciplinary practice spanning brand, wayfinding, environments and digital experiences. Its long-standing clients include Apple Canada, Four Seasons Hotels and Comcast. Across that work, the same question kept returning: what helps people understand, connect and trust? Kynective builds on that foundation by bringing research, behavioural science and narrative media together to help organizations understand people more deeply, strengthen human connection and create the conditions for trust to grow. At Kynective, Greg leads the practice and works with clients, collaborators and discipline leads to guide the narrative approach for each engagement.

Ciaran Neely

Vice President, Research and Behavioural Science

Ciaran graduated with distinction from the University of Waterloo, where she studied Mathematics, Psychology and Statistics, with a particular interest in behavioural modelling. She later conducted cancer research at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, where mathematics, modelling and bioinformatics were central to her work. At Kynective, she leads the research practice and works directly with clients to determine what must be learned, whose experiences need to be understood and which human factors should guide the work. The resulting insights can inform narrative media and wider applications across the practice. Drawing on relationships at the University of Waterloo, the University of Toronto and across the scientific community, she builds the research team each challenge requires.
